Terms of Service
Last updated 3 July 2026
1. Who we are
Card1 ("we", "us") supplies engraved NFC business cards and the hosted digital card pages, directory and related services at card1.net. Contact: hello@card1.net.
2. The product
- Physical card: a laser-engraved metal card with an embedded NFC chip and QR code, produced to the brief you submit after payment. Engraving is permanent — please check your brief carefully; we'll confirm anything ambiguous before production.
- Digital page: a hosted page at your chosen card1.net link, editable by you at any time. Your page keeps working with no subscription. Where we introduce optional paid extras in future, your core page and card stay functional without them.
3. Orders, prices & delivery
- Prices are as shown at checkout, in GBP. Payment is taken securely by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers.
- Production begins once you submit your configuration brief. We aim to produce and dispatch promptly and will keep you informed of progress.
- Because each card is personalised, orders can't be cancelled once engraving has begun. If a card arrives damaged or misprinted against your brief, we'll replace it free of charge.
4. Your content
- You keep ownership of everything you upload (photos, logos, documents, videos). You grant us the licence needed to host and display it as the service requires.
- You confirm you have the right to use what you upload, and that your page and documents contain nothing unlawful, deceptive or infringing. We may remove content or suspend pages that break this, normally with notice.
- The directory and perks wall are opt-in. You choose what appears there and can withdraw at any time from your dashboard.
5. The Card Vault
- Vault documents are stored outside the public web space and served only through the app. Private-zone documents are visible only to you when logged in, or to whoever holds an unexpired share link you created.
- Share links expire automatically. Treat them like the document itself — only send them to people you trust.
- The vault is a convenience copy, not your only copy: keep originals of important documents elsewhere.
6. Leads and messages
Details submitted through your card's "swap details" form are delivered to you and stored so you can manage them. You are the controller of your leads: use them lawfully (see our Privacy Policy).
7. Fair use
No use of the service to spam, harass, impersonate, or host malware or unlawful material. Automated scraping of the directory is not permitted.
8. Liability
We supply the service with reasonable skill and care. We aren't liable for indirect losses, or for loss of business arising from downtime, though we work hard to avoid it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under UK law. Our total liability in respect of any order is capped at the amount you paid for it.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be flagged on this page with a new date. Continued use after a change is acceptance of it.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
